Volkanovski joins a prestigious group of UFC fighters, including Israel Adesanya and others, who receive custom gear for significant fights. This upcoming bout will be Volkanovski`s 10th consecutive championship appearance in the UFC.
At 36 years old, Volkanovski lost his featherweight title to Topuria at UFC 298 by knockout. Now, he has an opportunity to reclaim it without fighting Topuria again. He will face a challenging opponent in Lopes, a popular fighter who has won five fights in a row since a close decision loss in his debut against Movsar Evloev in 2023.
