Volkanovski has a history of creating humorous sketches, including one where he portrayed himself as an old man, playing on criticisms about his age. Despite the “Old Man Volk” character`s fictional setbacks, Volkanovski continued to explore comedic content.
In his latest skit, Volkanovski takes viewers on a musical journey, parodying various genres, from power pop and grunge to Eurovision-style songs, hair metal, and classic country music. He clarified at a UFC 314 media event that he did not perform the vocals himself. The skit playfully references bands like Nirvana and The Beatles, even drawing comparisons between Volkanovski and music legend Paul McCartney.
Volkanovski also humorously expresses his anticipation for achieving his 27th victory and joining the “27 Club,” a tongue-in-cheek reference to famous musicians who tragically passed away at the age of 27.
This musical skit follows Volkanovski`s recent display of singing at a UFC 314 press conference, where he spontaneously sang Secondhand Serenade`s “Fall for You” dedicated to Lopes.
